For example, Byetta, a type 2 diabetes drug manufactured by Amilyn Pharmaceuticals and Eli Lilly and approved by Food and Drug Administration, is related with many side effects. It is an injectable form of insulin and is taken twice a day. Recently researchers discovered that the use of Byetta can cause hemorrhagic pancreatitis, necrotizing pancreatitis and acute pancreatitis.
It is condition in which there is inflammation in pancreas. If timely treatment is not taken, than pancreas may become porous and have to be surgically removed. Patients who are using Byetta should discuss the potential side effects with their doctors.
