Heart Beat to its Own Drummer – Cell Metabolism

According to the science journal, Cell Metabolism, researchers discovered that heart may “beat to its own drummer”. The research conducted by the scientists from the Salt Lake Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of Utah found that “a peripheral clock plays a role in the circadian rhythm of blood pressure and heart rate,” according to the news report published in Science Daily.

Scientists hope to obtain knowledge about molecular circuitry which is surrounded by the cardiovascular system. It controls the heart rate and blood pressure level in human beings. Moreover, as researchers discovered a new drum within the heart, they hope to understand the relation between heart diseases and diabetes prescription drugs and their side effects.  However, more research is needed to prove it.

Researchers also discovered the reasons for repeated heart failures occurring during morning. They found that “”circadian rhythms of physiology” and a rise, or “morning surge,” of blood pressure, may be the reason for morning heart attacks.

Causes for Cardiac Arrest

According to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) , potential reason for congestive heart failure are as follow:

• Heart muscle disease
• Heart valve disease
• Coronary artery disease
• Chronic lung disease
• High Blood Pressure

Except these causes, there are some other factors that may lead to heart failure. For example, prescription of dangerous drugs. Following factors are also responsible for the development of heart failure in a person:

• Age

Dangers of Prescription Drugs
